Sarah Manoukian Rebouah

is an artist based in Mauritius

Sarah Manoukian Rebouah is a French painter, born in the Drôme in 1977.

She has been exhibiting her paintings since 2003, about twenty exhibitions between the south of France, Lyon, Paris and Mauritius where she currently lives.

Her paintings are quoted at Artprice.

Inspired by abstract expressionism and street art, deepening a work on the matter, colours, light, the artist transposes in her paintings her thoughts and feelings, which are characterized by bright or darker pieces.

The non-attachment to ordinary thought allows him to explore states of consciousness where matter loses its importance, so intuition and imagination spring up, take shape and transpose themselves into his canvases.

A universe is full of energy, passion and sensitivity, red being her favourite colour, painting to the rhythm of the music, expressed by Cd's integration in her canvases.

Why did she donate?

Sarah is an artist who has been coming to Mauritius for several years.
She is very touched by the difficult situation for young people, especially since the global epidemic, and has decided to donate one of her works before leaving the country very soon.

is a Mauritian artist based in the West

Jocelyn Thomasse was born in 1950 in Mauritius.

At 66, Jocelyn Thomasse says he believes in pain and hard work.

” Only a little inspiration; the rest is transpiration.”

After years spent as a student in Serge Constantin’s studio, which he joined in 1965, he

reckons, he has acquired basic skills but is still in the learning process.

He talks about Picasso, who was still painting at 80 and was ever discovering things. Jocelyn’s way is to paint on the spot. Drawing, he believes, is a prerequisite to painting. The painter likes to say that he takes much pleasure in the work.

“Creation is a great moment at present. One should not think about the result. It does not matter. The important thing is to feel good, to enjoy.”

After a long banking career, Jocelyn now dedicates himself exclusively to painting. His studio is located in the village of Cascavelle (West coast of Mauritius)

Why did he donate?

For Mr Thomasse, allowing young people to move forward and progress is a laudable cause.
He has faith in education and thinks that it is thanks to the education that we will be able to change the face of the country.
